These sites will be shut down due to the host going out of business. Ted Angel, who owns the domains states they will be out of commision for the next few days. Ugh.
.....how bored were you?

I was so bored last night that I began singing various show tunes and songs, but in a gargling, underwater freaky voice. Just think of it as Greedo-ish and Mer-Man. It was quite entertaining....for me.

This Saturday at Gallery Horse Cow 1409 Del Paso Blvd ( Del Paso Hgts ) There will be an art show featuring a short animation film that has a soundtrack by The Secretions.

Damn it was cold this morning ( Sacramento International Airport 06:53AM Partly Cloudy 41degrees ) It's time to crawl into bed, i'm so freakn tired.

50 ways to leave your Loser

Since when did McDonald's get witty? Well, almost witty. Some friends and I were at McD's and received several game pieces from our combo meals.
All of the game pieces were losing tickets, and it was made perfectly clear.

#1. Sorry, This Time You Didn't Win
#2. Sorry, It Wasn't Your Time
#3. This Time's Not A Winner
#4. Sorry, Perhaps Another Time
#5. Sorry, Cant' Win Every Time
Well gee, thanks for pointing that out. I thought I always won.

Tunesday

This Tuesday is at CSUS, The Donnas will be playing. $8.00, all ages, doors @ 7:30. I doubt i'll make it, but Ryan, Brian and Steve are more than likely gonna be there.
Reunion

Last night at The Boardwalk was a blast. Epoxies, Apers, Helper Monkeys and Groovie Ghoulies all took stage which brought out a ton of people. People that I haven't seen in weeks. From bands to scenesters, they came out of the woodworks. Even Avi, owner of Springman Records was in the house. A very nice guy. Here's a recap of the night.

Picked up Becky around 8pm and we drove to The Boardwalk and met up with Steve. Hung out for awhile, checking out the merch tables and just doing the 'ol meet and greet. The Ghoulies had their entire Lookout! catalog for sale, only $5 each! So I filled the holes in my collection. Woo Hoo! Avi "liberated" the entire stock of Lookout! issues, including the master recordings !!

The Epoxies hit the stage first, and they just blew me away. An incredible stage presence and sound. Keyboards, 2 guitars, bass, drummer and vocalist. With new wave sounds and attire that had an influence from 70's British Punk. I wish I had more money, I would have bought every album they had for sale at the merch table.

The Apers were up next, and started off with some comedy. They stepped on stage dressed as The Groovie Ghoulies. The fourth Aper wore a sundress. The Apers are from Holland and dished out some classic punk riffs. Their guitarist had an incredible amount of energy, often thrusting his guitar out towards the audience and standing on monitor speakers at the edge of the stage. I snapped a great photo of Kortnee grabbing the guitarist fake boob. Check it out here.

The Helper Monkeys prepared the audience for the Ghoulies. Talking to Craig on friday, he said they were going to step it up a notch, being the company they were in. The Helper Monkeys definatlely accomplished that. It was by far the best performance that i've seen from those four guys. They were so tight, even on thier newer songs. The Monkeys are going into Pus Cavern Studios fairly soon to produce their latest CD. Word is that it will have a ton of songs on it.

The Groovie Ghoulies ended the night with a superb performance. In classic form, the Ghoulies played with perfection. Kepi is able to interact with the crowd at a level to envy. A true performer to the crowd. What the Ghoulies have achieved is the epitome of success to any indie band. A simple formula of constant touring and having fun, on stage and off. With a well established fan base and a dicography to back it up, Ghoulies maintain a level of integrity that can not be ignored.

After the show, dropped Becky off at home, and Ryan and I got some food. We deceided to stop by a lil get together at Adam's (and Kortnee & Erica's) apartment. Just over a dozen people were there, so hung out for a couple hours and then called it a night. Dropped Mickie off at his place and I headed straight home. I was beat. It was pushing 5am by this time.
Con-struct-ion

I will be doing some reconstruction of some of the photo pages on my site. In preperation for a purchase of webspace and future projects, I need to do things a little differently. So, if some of links are down or give you a wacky return, just be patient you little bastards.

Here is a link to all of the photos I took Saturday night. Some good, some bad, and some are videos. I'll leave em up for a couple days. Click HERE to enjoy.

Bela Lugosi's Dead

Well, I got up much later than planned, I guess I needed the sleep. Oh well. So I spent much of the late afternoon cleaning (putting things in boxes) and laundry. Ryan called me and said that he wasn't in the mood to see Grandaddy tonight, so I decieded to go to Gilman Street. Realizing it was getting late and that I really shouldn't spend the money, I changed my mind. So I called Ryan back and asked if he wanted to get some food when he got off from work.

Ryan and I met up at Jack's Urban eats (19th & Capitol) which is very good grub by the way. When I got there, MIckie and his girlfriend had just walked down the sidewalk (relevant later). After dinner we decieded to wander around, mainly looking for cool apartments/flats. As we rounded a corner we ran into Lory (Riff Randals) and Craig (Helper Monkeys). Granted Sacto isn't that big and most of my friends live in the vicinity of downtown, it still funny to run into them on some random street. They said they were going to see Plan 9 from Outer Space at The Crest (Lory's job). I had totally forgotten about it and really wanted to go. It was advertised to show the film, have comedy and prizes. So Ryan and I were game. The four of us walked down to The Crest. Lory and Craig couldn't get in for free so they bailed.

Ryan and I continued into the venue and damn i'm glad we did. It was a freakn blast. When we got in (which was a bit late) it was a full house and they were doing some comedy bits on stage. Next they played a ton of old campy movie trailers and clips. It was hilarious. With a full theatre, people were bustn up and yelling out comments. The movie finally began around 11:30 and lasted around 80mins. I won't go into the movie much, you can read about it here. After the flick we walked back to our cars about 8 blocks away, on the way back I took a few pics.

Spleen

Looks like I'll prob be going to a show at The Colonial with Ryan to see Grand Daddy. I've never seen them before, so it could be interesting. It's been a long time since i've been to the Colonial. I have massive amounts of cleaning to do this weekend, oh what a joy.

I got my Family Guy DVD, it only took looking at 5 different places to finally find the last copy at SunCoast in Arden Fair Mall. The clerk was like " ohhh nooooo, i was gonna grab that copy! " .... Sucks to be you! He said that the box set has been flying off the shelves, although pre-order was very light. It's freakn hilarious - we watched about 1 1/2 of the discs at work. Yup, EZ money honey.

Oh yea, and got word that i'll be going to school May 6th - 8th courtesy of my work. Ugh, boring stuff and worse of all - in the morning. I'll get a four day weekend though, they are giving me Monday 5th off. I hate mornings. I hate being out with all the NORMS during the day. Ugh. Hopefully there will be something good to do during the week at night. Like a good show or alien invasion.

Damn i'm tired.

Let There Be Light

Dammit - just got the crap scared outta me by a light burning out in the laundry room. Bzzzrap! Flash! Darkness.

The two year mark in my house quickly approaches, and lights are burning out left and right.
Mmmm bloggy

I love the locally run site Cockeyed.com The guy is hilarious and an inspiration.

A beet to another drumstick

I had an idea earlier in the week. It involves taking the drum kit, guitar and amp, planting ourselves in peculiar spots (public or private property) Take some photos and jet! We'll actually be able to set up the equipment quickly, play and then jam outta there! Imagine pulling up to the decks of Old Sac, setting up the equipment really quick - smash the drums - pluck the guitar, and then pack up quickly before trouble (cops) come. I want to hit many locations. Oh like in the middle of Capitol Mall Drive easement, middle of Target parking lot or in the drive thru of McDonalds.
And I Berate YOU !!

Another Victim

Paul has joined the geek world of blog. Yup, last night (actually early this morning) he created his very own blogger. We're gonna help him tweak it out a bit, and once it's up and running i'll post the link (even against his wishes). Paul also ordered parts for Rinelli to build him a computer. That coupled with DSL and he's gonna be ready to rock. DSL will be my choice too when I sell my house.

This weekend i'm also going to add everyone's blog link to my site. The circle of friends that deeply hate each other. It's true. I hate you all. Bastards.
Slothy

Just a tad over an hour til i'm off work. I'm hungry and tired.

Epitome of Irony

I just got a bill for TV FUCKING GUIDE !!!.
It has to be the worst invoice I have ever seen created. It's the white trash of all billing statements. Not a single phone number for customer service, which required me to send TV GUIDE an e-mail via their website.

So they want me to pay $51.48 (total price) for 52 issues of TV GUIDE when I don't even own a TV. Ack !! They can pry the money from my cold dead fingers. Okay, a bit dramatic eh?

The clincher is that apparently i'm really going to enjoy my FREE MIKASA VISION VASE when I make my first payment. What the hell ???!?!?!?!??

( ***anthony doing a google search on stupid ass vase*** )

Found it. Mikasa "vision" vase is worth a whopping $4.99 Perhaps I should just fork over the $51.48 for this unique piece of crap. I'll think about it and get back to you all.

PS
Here is a scan of the INVOICE (size: 300kb zoom in to read it clearly)

Sunday is not a day of rest for me

I woke up today at 10am. Yup, that's pretty dang early for me. But, I ended up asleep around 2am after the FM Knives show at Old I which gave me 8 hours of sleep. (for those that can't add) At first glance it looked like it was gonna be a super cloudy day. Another look and I saw broken up clouds from the west. A good sign. By the time Ryan got up, it was partly cloudy with bright blue skies, perfect photo weather. Met up with Ryan around 1pm and we hit the road. I suggested we eat lunch in Davis, being it's on the way to Lake Berryessa. We deceided to eat at Redrum Burger, formerly Murder Burger. We both have never eaten there, and i've always wanted to check it out. I have to say, the girl who took our order at the register was incredibly HOT. The kinda hot that burns the back of your skull. Okay, off track.. but damn. After our meal we hit the road again. It's really a quick and easy ride to Hwy 128 from Russel Road. We parked at the vista point at Montecello Dam at Lake Berryessa. I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop to the green hills. Bright blue skies with white clouds and rain clouds. One minute it was warm and sunny, five minutes later it was raining, then back to warm and sunny. The air was crisp and the visibility unlimited. Ryan and I walked from the vista up the road, stopping at various points for some pics. We eyed a section of shoreline that stuck out like a dock, with an old road that is accessable only by foot. Most of the road was covered with mud and foliage. On the way back up the old road I spotted a car in a lil ravine. We hiked down to the car which has obviously been there for many, many years. It ended up being a white stripped bullet-hole rittled 1971 Toyota Corolla.

On the way back home, I took Hwy 505 and we passed by this old abandoned house along a frontage road. It reminded me of the house in Blair Witch Project during the last scene. Ryan got some good pics with an awesome backdrop of clouds and foothills. My camera battery died back at Berryessa and Ryan only had a few pics left available to him. The setting was perfect though, just doesn't get much better than that. I sat there for several minutes staring at the view while Ryan took his final shots. I found another abandoned car too! An old super-stripped VW Bug. The house was the final subject in our photo trip and we headed back to Sacto.

At home again, I called my dad to see if he wanted to have dinner. During the week he made it clear he obviously wanted me to come over and hang out over the weekend. He wanted KFC so we grabbed some grub from KFC and brought it back to his house. My dad is so funny sometimes. He's 66 years old, but doesn't act it most of the time. Occasionally his age shows, but generally he's pretty sharp. In the car we were talking about traveling to various States. I was talking about the SouthWest area, and my desire to take a road trip. He says, and I quote.... " There's this place called the Mohad, it's a desert where they have these strange rock formations, like big rocks stacked up on little rocks in a pile. I've heard that you can rent dune buggys and drive around there.... It would be fun to do that.... I bet you could find gold out there." Hahahaha!! I love my dad. He cracks me up. My dad rented Harry Potter 2 so we threw that in the VCR. Ugh! About 20 minutes into the film my dad expresses his displeasure and boredom with the film. Whew! Saved!!! We ended up watching Evolution. I had never seen it, my dad said it was really good. It was pretty funny, decent special effects and a good plot. I left dad's and stopped by Safeway to get some food and sundries. Now here I am, rock me like a hurricane.

News in my briefs

Gotta run, but quickly.. Went out and took some photos with Ryan today, got some great shots. I'll post some late tonight. Now i'm off to pops to have dinner with him. I think he wants to watch Harry Potter 2. Ugh !!! Oh well, a son has gotta do what a son has gotta do. Type at you later.

Ancil Ant

Hopefully it's not raining Sunday, i'm really in the mood to take pics. It would be perfect if the weather was like yesterday. I just need to get some floppy discs for my Mavica (MVC-FD88) and i'm ready to rock. Golly gee darn-it, I really need a new camera. Hey! Stranger out there! Buy me a camera! Humph, it works for the webcam girls - why not me????? Oh, guess i'd have to turn on my webcam and put on a show. Ummmm - never mind.

Anyways. I think i've gotten my ambition back when it comes to photos. I've got the bug. I've been not disinterested, but just not inspired recently. Photography has meant a lot to me, especially over the last 4 years or so. If you know me, I have literally thousands of photos. Candid, funny, sloppy, repetitive, boring, artistic, unique, and even amazing. My plan is to make a book of my favorites. Not like a published book, but a handmade book of my work. One that I can display or give away as a gift. I just need a newer/better printer and I would really like to have a super-duper camera. All plans after I sell my home.

Okay, off to pack up a care package.......
without a cause

Pee Wee: There's things about me you don't know, Dottie. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't understand. Things you shouldn't understand.

Dottie: I don't understand.

Pee Wee: You don't want to get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel.
Yuck

I had a very realistic dream of my dad having a heart attack and dying. I rarely remember my dreams, but I still remember some sections of this dream. Ugh.
To B-Movie, or not to B-Movie

I didn't go see The Adicts. As the day ran down I felt less and less like going to see the show. Really, the only reason I wanted to go was to see Olga. I was just not in the mood when it came down to it. I felt like being social, and not staring at an unknown band by myself.

So I met up with Ryan at StarBucks and then we deceided to see House of 1,000 Corpses at Regal Theatre. I had recently read about it on Matt's blogger. A horror flick by Rob Zombie, I just can't pass that one up. I watched the trailer online earlier in the day and it looked pretty cool. In classic Rob Zombie tone, it was filled with vivid colors and ecentric characters. The cinematography really reminded me of Natural Born Killers, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie has to be one of the campiest, crappiest, and coolest B-movies i've ever seen. Obviously with a very good budget, this movie was filled with realistic gore, great sets and exaggerated costumes/makeup. Speaking of exaggerated, the characters were so often over the top that it was actually funny. Incredibly cliche, this flick was filled with unexplained sequences and occassionaly void of consistancy. It was simply a horror film intended to mindlessly entertain, mostly visually. It's obvious that visiual stimulation is very important to Rob Zombie, just look at his album cover art, personal outfits and his videos. This movie just adds another notch in his belt to express his interest in horror films.

Here are some films that I really want to see that are coming out soon.

Identity - april 25
X-Men 2 - may 2
Matrix 2 - may 15
Prozac Nation - june 6
28 Days Later - june 27

TV or not TV, that is the question

I do not own a television, and haven't for over a year. But somebody still sent me a $1.99 TV Guide. It's the Comcast Edition, so I suspect them. It's great I can read all about the shows i'm not going to watch. If i'm really bored I could read the synopsis at the time in which the show airs. Does that count? If I read it again is that a rerun? What a waste of 328 pages of newsprint and a few nice glossy paper shoved randomly throughout the zine.

My Bologna!!

Oh I almost forgot!
Adam Miller (Mallrats bassist and artist) is having an artshow this Saturday. There will be three artists featured in the show. He will have twelve pieces available for purchase and viewing. The show will be held at:

Uptown Studios
912 1/2 J street, Sacramento
(it's inside the orange door)

Sorry, I don't have a time right now - probably late afternoon to early evening.
Words To Memorize Words Hypnotize

Friday i'm going to see The Adicts at The Colonial Theatre. Olga from the Toy Dolls (one of my favorite bands of all time) is playing bass for this tour. It just might be the only time i'll ever see Olga perform. Saturday i'll be at Old Ironsides to see the FM Knives, a band I totally dig. Their album Useless and Modern quickly ranked in the top 10 of my favorite local albums. Sunday, well it's up in the air. I would really like to go out and take some photos with Ryan, but it looks like it may be cloudy and rainy. We will just have to wait and see. If Sunday is a total bust, i'll spend all day cleaning. I WILL I WILL I WILL I WILL !!!!!!!!!!!!

I really want a new digital camera. I really want this camera!

Crud, I have to get ready for work now.

Things to do this week.
Taxes - woo hoo !!! moving money !!!

View To A Kill

Met up with Ryan around 2pm, and we got some food at Carl's Jr. The weather was perfect today, my ideal conditions. It had a very coastal bay area feel. After food we went on a photo mission. First stop, the skate park by my house where there were about a dozen kids hitting the ramps. Got some pretty good flicks. After the skate park we went to Tone Vendor downtown. Oh this place is dangerous. I need to stay far away from it if I plan to pay my bills. Incredible selection of indie music. Some very very obscure stuff on the shelves. From 18th & J, Ryan and I ventured off on foot to take photos. We walked from 18th & J to the Convention Center and from there we ended up on the Capitol grounds.

I've been up since 7am woo hoo! Super long day. I just got back from the store and have 2 Rock Star drinks at my disposal. 10 more hours til my day ends at 7am. 24hr days rock!
Family Tree

I can't wait til I get to see my family on April 15th.
That's a wrap

Paul, Steve and Brian came over to hang out. We grabbed some food and then commited evil acts (pranks) against our society. Later in the night I the movie " Phone Booth " with Ryan. Good flick. Not amazing, but worth the $9.00 bucks at Regal Theatre. It wasn't so plot-twisty as it has been made out to be in reviews. The movie was pretty short too, only about 1hr 15mins. I really liked the way it was filmed, the cinematography was good, especially the first few scenes of the movie. That's all I have to say about that.

Panic Room
Man this story is like something out of a movie.
Got Mask?

I have SARS.

Severe Anger Regarding Stupidity.

I also have SARS

Severe Anxiety Regarding SARS ( woo-hoo! acronym within acronym! )

I do NOT have bedSARS ( the way you Georgian hicks say it )

So I checked the internet for " surgical masks ". Ya know, for protection. Foreigners are again spreading the filth. Another valid reason to discriminate.
Using Google, I got 45,500 returns in .12 seconds. The first two returns were regarding surgical masks. The third and fourth return was a link to AnyMask.com. Yes they do sell surgical masks, but they also sell mANY kinds of masks!

I must proclaim that this is the best site ever created. I spent 36 straight hours, okay - maybe 36minutes, regardless I spent some time browsing this site.
First off, they have named their masks as to not get sued. Like " The Player Celebrity Mask ". Oh geez, who could that be? Hmmm wonder.

Here are some of my favorites. I can't wait til Halloween!!!!! Screw that, I can't wait til I drive around town with one of these on.

Wolfman Easily the worst wolfman mask i've ever seen
Hulk What the #$*#(%*
Candle Mask Somebody did too much LSD
Whoopi This is the best!

I'm going to bed now, I hope I have nightmares.

Local History

12 years ago today marks the anniversary of the Good Guys hostage situation in South Sacramento. I remember watching the live media coverage and hearing the police radio traffic on my grandmothers police scanner. The incident made international news and the story has been featured on many police/video programs over the years. One of the victims, Lisa Joseph has written a book titled Heads or Tails. The book details her ordeal and I think it will be some interesting reading with a local twist.

The war is being filmed on a soundstage - per the internet

Hmmm Started off April by being up for 24 hours, I just got on a messed up sleep cycle.

Yesterday ( April 2nd ) Brian, Ryan and Paul came over. We went to the new Mongolian BBQ place at Natomas Mkt. Decent, nothing compared to Brian's second home at Arden and Howe though.

Tonight at the Crest Theatre is the SAMMIES, my fingers are crossed for the Riff Randals and Mallrats to get some recognition.

Not much planned this week or weekend. The Angry Amputees are playing this Saturday at Capitol Garage. I'm not to gung ho about going and really doubt that I will. We shall just have to wait and see. I need some boxes to pack up stuff - some good strong boxes that can handle being stacked. Soon i'll need to get a storage unit and move some stuff into there.

Well, i'm a sleepy slug, i'm going to bed now.

Massive congrats go out to my bud Curtis. He's one step closer to being a married man. Over the weekend he asked his longtime girlfriend Leah to marry him. He asked her at Stump Beach on the Sonoma Coast. Congrats again my friend !!!
On The Road Again

Woke up around 1:30pm on Sunday and cleaned house a bit. Brian came over around 3pm, and then Steve shortly after that. We got on our bikes and treked up to Taco Hell. It's nice to be able to get back on the bike again. It's been too long. Between some nasty colds and cold weather, it just wasn't feasible over the last couple months. The last couple days we've had some incredibly awesome weather. I'm so glad spring is approaching. We met up with Paul at my house, unfortunately his bike is still out of commision. Hung out for a bit and then everybody bailed leaving me alone to fend for myself. I grabbed some grub and coffee and just hung out at home. Played some online Medal Of Honor (video game) with Steve, and did some nerd stuff on the computer.

I was beat and asleep in my chair by 3am. Ugh! I kept nodding off and having these bizzare quick snips of dream sequences. Just weird, surreal, nonsensical crap. I can't even really recall them, I just remember kinda being in a state of awake/asleep. Aware that I was sitting in my chair, but still with a vivid dream state. Odd. I rarely remember my dreams though. So here I am, awake at 9am and I have to go to work tonight at 8:30pm. I'll probably stay up for a few hours and take a nap before work. I don' t I should really attempt to stay awake from 9am to 7am (tuesday). Especially for my first work day this week.

Last night I talked to my friend Mark just after the Subhumans show at The Colonial. He said it was a great show with several hundred people. I'm sure I missed out on a great show, but I just wasn't in the mood and really wanted to chill at home. Plus it was extra money I really shouldn't spend. Speaking of money, I still need to do my taxes! Speaking of shows, the Mallrats play tonigh at Espresso Metro (11th & K) ALL AGES for $5. They are playing with a couple bands from China called Brain Failure and Hang On The Box and it should be a kick ass show. Unfortunately I must work. I also have to work during the SAMMIES, this wednesday at The Crest, and I have to work during the Knockoffs and Riff Randals gig at The Distillery on Thursday.

Moving Pictures

I've just obtained the video to Ted Leo's Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone?
Enjoy !!
Oh yeah. A couple more things.
Capitol Garage is getting it's occupancy increased to 150 !! There is a catch though.........
It'll cost Cap Garage $700.00 !!!!! So money will make it okay?? I don't get it. When Mickie told me I was shocked. No freak'n way! Give us more money and we'll let you have more people in your business. Damn. I mean, you can't really complain about it either - they (Fire Dept & Code Enforcement) have you by the throat. Funny, usually the cops are the bad guys and the fireman are the good guys. The Fire Dept is not well liked by punks right now.

Talked to Heather (riff randals) tonight, she says the girls are planning a tour northbound toward Seattle. Now that they have the van (jackie brown) they have a greater oppurtunity to hit the road without being dependent on others. I'm very happy for them and I hope they're able to book some good gigs.
Split Ends

Went to Cap Garage tonight to catch Amazing Transparent Man and Secretions sets. I got there around 7:30 or so and paid for both shows. $8 bucks each. The first was already underway and I didn't care too much about the first band so I walked around the area. ATM hit the stage and they actually had a good sized crowd this time. The last two times they hit Sacto the turn out was horrible. One time being the same day as a Green Day concert. I saw them that time and really enjoyed their set. This time around they were even better with a decent audience. Secretions played next and they played a good strong set. That band just gets tighter and tighter each time. They are gearing up for a SouthWest tour stretching to New Orleans and back. I was able to talk to Mickie for a few minutes and he's still trying to get some shows in Texas. He also told me about a show that I had heard about already at Casa De Chaos (aka The P house). The Haints, Nevada Backwards, Secretions and a couple more bands will be doing acoustic sets. It's being promoted via word-of-mouth only. Nothing official. That gig will be Sunday May 11th.

Ryan showed up for the second show at 10pm. Both of us really didn't care about the first band so we went exploring around the new 11 story building next to Capitol Garage and over at the Convention Center. We found a pretty cool staircase and elevated courtyard at the convention center which would be a good spot to take some photos. We also checked out some of the new state buildings at Capitol & 15th Street. The surronding landscape is looking pretty cool. We also went trip'n around some apartments at 15th and N street. Some really cool ones that i'd love to live in. I'll have to keep those in mind when it comes to apt hunting.

We both only stuck around to see ATM play their set. Ryan was tired and had to get up super early Sunday morning, and I had a headache developing. I'm sure it was from starvation cause my stomach was yelling at me. I grabbed some food, played some video games and cleaned up a bit in the kitchen. Now i'm going to bed.

Today a few friends are coming over, we're gonna go bike riding, get some lunch and then hang out afterwards. Ryan and I may go see a movie in the evening. We shall seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

PRIVATE investigator(insert beavis & butthead laugh here)

I received an interesting comment on an earlier post. I'm going to post the comment and response right here so you don't have to go hunting for it.

Dear AnonyWuss,

Interesting post. I'm intrigued.
---------------------------------
"you are so weird"

I won't dispute the fact that I am often perceived as "weird". But you should clarify your meaning of the word "weird".

weird (wîrd)
adj. weird·er, weird·est

#1 Of, relating to, or suggestive of the preternatural or supernatural.

#2 Of a strikingly odd or unusual character; strange.

#3 Archaic. Of or relating to fate or the Fates.

Sometimes I feel supernatural, sometimes I feel not so natural, and sometimes I get that "not so fresh feeling".

Sometimes more than most, but not so much. Comprehend?

-------------------------------
"do you take medication(s)"

Only when i'm really ill. Physically ill, not mentally. I may have A.D.D. but i've never had a problem with it, except for high school. On to the next subject, i'm bored of this one.

------------------------------
"why do you always look mad in all your pictures"

"ALL" my pictures. Wrong!
I look content in this pic
I'm happy in this pic, it was a fun weekend.
------------------

"we heard there was a guy you work with who is stranger than you...we want to see pictures of the people you work with"

Interesting. "we" heard....
"we" ???
Did it take "all" of you to compose this mysterious anon e-mail? Are you all standing around the computer? This post raises my suspicions of the integrity of this "comment". This may have been you're fatal error making this type of comment at 5:30am.

------------------------------------
"..a guy you work with who is Stranger...?

It's possible.
Everyone is strange and unique in some way. Some more than others. I imagine most people just don't let "us" into "their" world and thought process. I'm just extroverted enough to display quite a few of my intricacies.
--------------------------
You want to see pics of the people I work with?

Why? Most of my co-workers are your everyday normal citizens trying to make a buck while working as little as possible. Oh did I type that?

Plus, i'm sure most would not want their photos on my public website without their permission, being they are at work in a private facility. Due to the nature of my job, I don't necessarily disclose all of the details. Ohhhh interesting huh! But alas, the nature of this comment again raises suspicions. Why would a "stranger" want to see photos of my co-workers.

I'd rather avoid drama. I'd be glad to send you some via e-mail, show you them at my place ( if i in fact i do know you ). Otherwise it will remain a curiosity that may just kill you as it did the ferrel cat. I'm thinking that you don't need to really "see" these photos. Just look around you.
------------------------------
"...your brother looks mad too!"

Yeah, he does. He's a mellow soul. Until you get him talking about his music.
--------------------------------

"we think you just may need a girlfriend..."

Yup "you all" are correct. That certainly would be just grand. Funny you should post this. I was thinking about that very subject quite a bit last night. It sucks. On various levels. I'm shy (in certain situations) and i'm picky. Not that I have the luxury of being picky, it's that I tend to open myself up to somebody that I seem (to me) to be able to connect with. I doubt i'll ever go up to that "stranger" and initiate contact. It's just not in my nature. All of my relationships have developed from friendship which is not a bad thing, but it greatly limits your viable options. This brings me to the other issue of being infactuated with lady-folk who are unobtainable for one reason or another. That's depressing.

So there you go. You started it - I continued it. Your turn Mr/Mrs/Ms Anonywuss.

***********
Okay
The internet is rarely secure and anonymous. My superior intellect has once again proven itself. This comment was indeed made by one of my co-workers while at work. I just don't know which individual posted the comment. I do have my suspicions though. Narrowed down to 3 people. Granted it's not as interesting of a comment when it's not made by a stranger, secret admirererererer or some hot punk chick that wants me - it still provides a level of entertainment.... for me at least. But that's all that matters, right?
Life IS bonkers

Woke up at 2pm. Brian came over and we had another amateur jam session, then rode our bikes up to Gordito Burrito. It has been so long since we've busted out the 'ol mountain bikes. So long the time on my bicycle computer is one hour ahead. I' m not gonna bother changing it cuz in two weeks it'll be back on track.

Later in the evening I went to Old I to see the Riff Randals play. Mark, Matt and Michelle ( too many M's ) were there for the good times. The Randals were in really good form, playing a very good set. They had a higher level of audience interaction and the banter was quite entertaining. There were quite a bit of people at Old I for an opening band. Usually that place can be somewhat empty for openers. Life Is Bonkers played next, this night was their CD release show. Comprised of a keyboardist/vocalist and guitarist, these two guys provide campy tunes and humorous lyrics. This was the first time i've seen a full set of theirs. I've seen them a bit at True Love ( i think ) and i've seen them play at a cover show several months ago. I really had no interest in see'n Go National. I've seen them so many times and it's really nothing that gets me going. They obviously have more talent in their pinky toe than in my entire body, but their music just doesn't do much for me anymore. I said my goodbyes and left Old I in search of sundries.

I took a round-a-bout way to the Alhambra Safeway and grabbed a few essentials for the week. Soap and shampoo. Okay, and some food for later. I really wasn't in the mood to do anything. Kinda strange. I headed back home, caught up on some e-mails and fell asleep in my chair and ended up just going to bed. Slept from about 1:30 to 7:30am. Here I am now. Still groggy, and i'll end up going back to bed in a couple hours and get up before noon. I really don't have anything planned for today and I need to watch my money. It's going to be another financially tight couple of weeks. I do know today i'm gonna try to get started on cleaning this bomb shelter. Perhaps pack some stuff up and vacuum.

Tonight is a the split gig at Capitol Garage. Two shows. First one at 7pm and the second one at 10pm. $8 (poss $10) for each show. Secretions and Amazing Transparent Man are playing both shows. I'll be at both shows, probably taking several pics during one of the sets. I need more Secretion pics on my site.

V for visitors

I had a visitor today.

He wanted to come inside my house.

He looked mad, but I wasn't sure, so I let him in.

Yup, he was mad.

Surreal

I'm watching the live webcam in Iraq (as mentioned earlier) and i'm hearing some explosions that can only be described as sounding like fireworks. That thumping hollow sound of a rocket being launched from a tube....silence then a echo of a boom in the distance. The launches have occured with incriments of four. I believe it may be AAA (anti-aircraft artillery) from Iraqi positions. I've heard two sets of AAA blasts and a few other booms in the distance. Now I can hear music being played over speakers in the city streets. It's been said that prayers have been broadcasted in the city streets at times. The webcam has a view of a downtown intersection and some 2 story buildings. What was spooky to me was when the AAA was being heard via the webcam, I had a slight blip and flicker of my lights in my house with my back up power supply for the computer activating for just a split second. Totally weird.

( 06:51 PM )
Okay, i've figured it out. The speakers are playing prayer everytime bombs hit in Baghdad. I remember hearing about that on the news a few days ago. Especially surreal with the birds chirping in the background as the sun rises in Iraq.
Just Pencil Me In

After the Great White "incident" back east things changed around here. Venues have reduced capacity and prices have gone up. Some places like True Love and Cap Garage started having two seperate shows a night for large draw bands. This Saturday some friends of mine (The Secretions) are playing, and for the first time they will play one of these dual sets.

Capitol Garage – 15th & L Street Downtown Sacto
Saturday 03-29-03

1st Show: 7:00pm
Secretions (Springman Records)
Amazing Transparent Man (Springman Records)
Pummel

2nd show: 10:00pm
Secretions (Springman Records)
Amazing Transparent Man (Springman Records)
Khaki Trash

$8.00 Cover (previously advertised as $10.00 - so we shall see @ the door)

Back to Great White. Cause you know we haven't talked about this enough. Here's my six degrees of seperation to Great White. Michael Lardie is a past member to the group and was reared in Sacramento. He's also good longtime friends with a friend of mine at work. When Great White was on tour, they had planned to hit Sacramento at some point and my friend was gonna hook me up with tickets to their show.
Disappearing Act

I just paid 95% of my bills online or over the phone. Now that's just nifty, especially for my car registration. I finally have (sort of) the funds to pay for my DMV tags and plopped down the $260 bucks online. When I move out of my money pit, i'll actually have that cushion of money where I can have most of my bills deducted automatically. It'll prevent late payments which is just super keen.

I've been watching an online live webcam in Baghdad. This particular cam is pretty clear and smooth, they also just added sound. I usually catch it during darkness in Iraq, so there isn't too much activity. Although I just heard glass breaking! Woo hoo! Somebody dropped something! Exciting. Every great once in a while you'll see a car drive by or .... I just heard a car honk! Score! ... or hear an aircraft fly by. A couple times i've heard some bellowing booms, similar to thunder. I can only assume this is the sound of bombs. It could be the sound of wind hitting the mic to the camera. Ya know that deep fluttering sound. Either way, i'm expecting to see apocolyptic activity when our troops get into Baghdad. Anything less than that would be just..... well your typical televison show.
Exit Stage East Coast

( 7:02:21 AM )
James leaves for NY this afternoon and my dad and I will be taking him to the airport. I better hit the sack cuz i'm tired and i'm not gonna get much sleep today. Thank god it's my friday. Thank god I got paid too! Woo Hoo!

( 2:19:00 PM )
Just dropped James off at the airport. He seems anxious to get back to California, and away from New York winters. He really doesn't want to spend another winter in NY, and as long as he saves up some money, i'm sure he can make the move back.

Over and Out

Out to lunch.
Out of this world.
Out of sight.
Out of time.
Out of quarters.
Out of options.
Out of range.
Out of my mind.
Poprocks and Coke

Monday night went over to Lory's house to meet up with everyone for the trip to Reno. The Riff Randals had a gig at Ark-a'ik and it was the trial run of Jackie Brown, their new 1979 Dodge van. It ain't pretty, but the brown behemoth runs great. 8 of us fit in the van with room to stretch. The trip there was really easy, even in rush hour traffic. We stopped in BoomTown to get some food, Candice and I got some booze of course. We unloaded the van and hung out for a while.

The first band, actually artist was a guy from Vancouver, Canada named Mr Plow. His lyrics were hilarious. He worked out very well being he played prior to the Randals set. One song in particular was about a girl he had met on tour, and within a span of 20 minutes he learned some of her dark secrets and fantasies. Such as scat and golden showers. It was an awesome song. The Randals played second and to a receptive crowd. There were about 30 or so punks, most of them spikey-punks. A pretty good turn out for a Monday night. After their set we hung outside/inside the van. The last band was pretty boring. Everyone (from our group) kept saying they were just standing on stage lifeless and don't bother going in there. Candice and I made another run to the liquor store and the two of use downed a 32oz beer each and split the third remaining bottle. About 30 minutes into the trip home everyone in the back crashed. We got back to Lory's around 1:30am and I was at home before 2am.

At home I fell asleep around 3am and slept til 6am. But when I woke up, I thought it was 6pm. So I started my daily routine and then realized - ohhhhhh it's 6:00pm CRAP!
I was wide awake at 6am after 3 hours of sleep. Okay, and some nap'n in Jackie Brown. So I walked in circles around the house and finally fell asleep around 11am. Gawd.

I woke up at 2:30 feeling like shit. A headache and zombified. With little food and no extra water in my body - that booze hit hard. I really felt cruddy. I talked with Ryan and he offered to buy me lunch, so I picked him up and we ate at " Pick Up Sticks " in Natomas Park. Awesome lil joint, a bit pricey - damn good food though.

Ryan and I then went to Fry's and milled around. He bought a couple DVDs and I made a wish list in my head. Of course I worked later which was boring and uneventful. An easy day after having five days off. Back in the 'ol routine.

Just Can't Get Enough ?

Here are a couple links to live webcam video in Iraq.

MSN - night-vision and audio. poor video quality and slightly delayed.

n-TV.de - larger picture without audio. No night vision, but smooth video.

At The Tone The Time Will Be............. Too Early !!

I went to bed last night around 0400hrs. Woke up at 9am! ouCH !! That's the earliest i've been up in months. I mowed the lawn this morning, i'm sure to the delight of the neighbors. Dad, Kimberly and James stopped by my house on their way to the airport at 1015. We all said our goodbye's to Kimberly at the airport and then got some lunch at In-N-Out. It's 1:15pm right now and i'm tired. I've had four hours of sleep and need to stay awake til at least 5am. I've been on a wacky mixed schedule that is not very condusive to working the graveyard shift.

Oh yeah. I'm poor. I have $39.00 in the bank and $5 in my pocket. This needs to last til payday (friday) Thank gawd dad let me use his gas card and fill up my tank twice for the trip to SF yesterday. It was about $70.00 in gas !! Yowza!

Sea Hunt

We were at a (rip off) shop to pick up some SF trinkets for James' friends back in NY. We came across this lovely shot glass. We each picked up one. Everyone needs to have their bloody dolphin shot glass!
Snapshot Part Deux

A couple more pics. This time of my brother and my cousin Tom. The 3 of us went to SF today. James needed some SF air and photos.
